Bad Hair Days

I burned my scalp a few weeks ago and have been battling an embarrassing case of dandruff ever since. It has been an absolutely nightmare.

Out of desperation I purchased up a bottle of Selsun Blue. I used it one time and threw it away. My hair smelled so terrible it was nauseating. A few days later I picked up a bottle of Head & Shoulders. The results were weak at best. My next purchase was the new Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy. Hopeful, I gave the shampoo a week trial period. Although it smelled amazing, I was still flaking after 7 washes.

After some serious internet research I stopped into Ulta and picked up Giovanni Invigorating Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo and conditioner. Giovanni uses formulas that incorporate vitamins, herbs, minerals, proteins, nutrients and the purest of essential oils. The shampoo bottle states that it removes all traces of dirt, oil and build-up, increases scalp circulation, strengthens hair and alleviates dry, flaky scalp...

I am happy to report this shampoo and conditioner actually worked! Not only did it immediately restore the moisture to my scalp, the shampoo has an enjoyable tingle effect {thanks to the tea tree oil}. Oh, and the scent is very herbal and minty {reminds me of Aveda products}. The conditioner is just as invigorating and initiates a cooling feeling on the skin. I will definitely be switching to this combo full time, dry scalp or not.

Product description:

Tea Tree Triple Treat features a blend of rosemary oil, thyme oil, nettle oil, chamomile oil, and tea tree oil which combine to add shine to your hair and revitalize your scalp. The moral of the story is to apply sunscreen to your scalp! However, if you forget and get burned, hopefully this post will save you a few shampoo trials.

Loving Lately

5 Things I'm Loving Lately...
My new May Book Planner {recommended by Steph}!
*Note - September 25th looks important! Take note!
My recreation of a belt knot I found on Pinterest.

Little Bee, by Chris Cleave {recommended by Natasha}. I read this book earlier this summer and absolutely loved it.
Craig's List. I sold half of our furniture in a weekend on Craig's List! The jar is my "furniture fund" for the new stuff I have picked out! Note: "542" is the name of the project, not the amount of money in the jar {I wish}!
Visiting the hubs at work!
