1 Month 'til I Do!

I cannot believe Matt and I are now 1 month away from our nuptials! People keep asking me if I am nervous, and honestly I absolutely am not. As a matter of fact, I have never been more excited in my entire life. I am just weeks away from marrying my sweet Matt and settling down as a Mrs!

It will be so rewarding to finally see my vision come+together. Here is the final inspiration board that my extremely talented wedding planner, Katrina Hutchins, designed  for me.

I have checked off a ton of things on my to-do list since last month. Here is my remaining list of wedding to-do's:
-Bridal portraits
-Finish making boutonnieres
-Finalize band playlist
-Break in wedding shoes
-Make burlap table runners
-Directional signage
-Welcome bags
-Confirm all vendors & reservations
-Marriage license
-Wrap wedding party gifts

Charlie is so excited for the BIG DAY too!

Wedding Invitations

Our wedding invitations have been delivered! What a relief to be done with such an important element of our wedding. Truly a labor of love, I felt like I was a slave to these lovely pieces of paper for months, delicately handwriting each envelope in calligraphy, and now they are done! There is nothing that brings a bigger smile to my face than receiving a call, text, or email from friends and family to tell me how much they love our invitations.

We had a very short list of expectations for our invitations. We wanted them to look timeless, elegant, and very traditional. I really wanted raised black ink {thermography}. Matt on the other hand was completely baffled by why anyone would pay for raised ink. He said "it's not like anyone is going to run their fingers over the invitation to see if the letters are raised." I won that battle. Most importantly, we did not want anything that was so expensive that the thought of someone throwing it away would make me cry.

I ended up finding my invitations at a little boutique called Torrence Stationary. I absolutely love how they turned out!

A few months ago, April of A. LizAdventures, informed me {during our calligraphy date} that if I sent a wedding invitation to the President, I would receive a congratulatory letter from him and the First Lady!

Sooooo, we sent an invitation!..

And we received our card over the weekend!

I won't spoil the inside surprise for you brides who are sending an invite!
I cannot tell you how exciting it is to receive a letter from The White House! To invite the President, mail your invitation at least six weeks in advance of your wedding day to:

The Honorable Barack Obama and Mrs. Obama

Greetings Office Room 39

 Happy Tuesday!

Pumpkin Picking!

When you think about pumpkins you may think about Jack O' Lanterns and pie, but pumpkins are more than just that. Going out to a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins is a fun filled rite of the fall season. Whether you pick your pumpkin from a field or a roadside stand, finding the perfect pumpkin is such an exciting annual tradition.

Over the weekend, Matt and I ventured out into the crisp autumn air to hunt for our perfect pumpkin. While some families pick their pumpkin rather decisively, we had very specific expectations and took our time, sorting through all the choices with rapt attention and care {carefully chosen pumpkins last longer, look nicer, and taste better}.

Here are the pumpkins we took home:

It has only been two years since Matt and I shared our first pumpkin season together. This picture brings back such special memories!

However, this year we chose not to dig inside the pumpkin shell and navigate through goo to scrape out seeds. Instead, we decided to paint our pumpkin!

A healthy, uncarved pumpkin can last through Thanksgiving and beyond.
 Happy Pumpkin Picking Y'all!
