Happy, happy Friday y'all!
A quick housekeeping note before we get down to it - thank you to everyone who linked up last week and entered our Five on Friday giveaway! Congrats #110 -
Life, Love and Puppy Paws on winning lots of amazing goodies!
On to the five!
- ONE - My sister and her hubby arrived last night and today the boys are competing in the
Annual BBQ and Brews Contest
for the fifth year! So you can find us taking full advantage of the
brews and BBQ in Uptown this weekend. And if you live in Charlotte you
should totally stop by our tent and sample some BBQ! Last year the boys
took home 3rd place in ribs and I have no doubt that they will be a hit
again this year.
- TWO - A few weeks ago I posted about my all time favorite Bath & Body Works candle scent - Flannel. Well this week B&BW is running another awesome sale on 3-wick candles {2 for $22} and I had a coupon so I ran up to the store to stock back up and I was
so disappointed to find they were sold out! Ugh! And then I was informed that Flannel sells out quickly every single year early in the season. Lesson learned. So anyway, I had to find a new scent and went with Sparkling Icicles. It's no Flannel, but it sure does smell amazing.
- THREE - Last weekend my friend {and cousin by marriage} August came to visit! Saturday night we met up with a mutual friend for a girl's dinner at
Good Food on Montford and oh-my-goodness it was amazing. We enjoyed lots of delicious small plates, wine and polished off dinner with dessert and Kahlua and Cream cocktails {my first ever, and now I'm hooked}. I am dying for a date night so Matt and I can go together. Anyone want to babysit?

- FOUR - Loving my new oversized plaid scarf from
Target! Like everyone other girl, I am scarf obsessed so this beauty immediately caught my eye during a recent emergency formula run. At $16.99 and on sale for 20% off, I had to have it.
- FIVE - In the words of my favorite artist Jimmy Buffett, "Wrinkles will only go where the smiles have been." Oh so true! Between lots of smiles and decades of soaking up the Florida sunshine I am now officially at war with my face wrinkles.
Lucky for me, my
blog friend turned real friend and
Rodan + Fields rep recently
announced a new product on her
blog called Redefine Acute Care {coming in January} and was super generous to give me some strips to review! Acute Care targets expression lines and wrinkles while you
sleep for
smoother, more youthful looking skin. Although I've never tried Botox,
Acute Care offers similar results yet is more affordable ($198 for 10
treatments), convenient (at home application), painless (no needles) and
quick (overnight results). Anyway, I think I'll let the before/after pictures from
one treatment speak for themselves...
 |
I'm so terrible at "selfies" so excuse the awkwardness. I thought including the baby would make things a little less weird. |
The product is designed to be used every three days for a full month but a lot of people (like ME!) see results after just one use. The only two ingredients are hyaluronic acid and peptides which are both found naturally in your skin. Basically you wash your face, peel the strip and apply in your desired location. You can use them around your mouth, on eye lines or on your forehead. For me, it was a no brainer that I would target my crazy forehead wrinkles. I've only used the strips for
one night and already see a little difference so of course I now want to try a whole month! I also started the
Redefine regimen so I'll have to update y'all later on that too.
Okay - so the best part?!
This line won't hit the market until January 2015 but will be offered to preferred customers only to purchase (through an R+F rep) for a one day flash sale - October 22! It is extremely likely that the R+F website will crash (it already did the day the reps were allowed to purchase) and that the product will sell out quickly, so if you're interested contact
Kristen early to place your order!
Also, Kristen has generously agreed to give one Acute Care treatment (2 strips) to anyone who signs up to be a preferred customer between now and the flash sale (October 22)!! If you are interested in buying the Acute Care or any other R+F products, you can contact Kristen through her
Rodan + Fields webpage.
And not to sound like an infomercial (but wait! there's more!), Kristen is also offering to give away one Acute Care treatment to one lucky reader. You can enter the contest by using the rafflecopter below! The giveaway closes at midnight on October 21 and the winner (chosen at random) will be announced on October 22. Good luck!
