Caroline's Nursery

The nursery is officially ready for Caroline's arrival! For months we've been perfecting this little space and we are so happy with how it turned out. I absolutely love everything about this room. It's cozy, calm and beautiful - the perfect place to rock a little babe to sleep in.

For the crib we chose the Kendall Low-Profile Fixed Gate Crib from Pottery Barn. It's gender neutral, classic style sold me right away. But the best part? The "low profile" model is 4" shorter than a traditional crib, making it the perfect design for petite parents like us. Between my mom and my sister, we luckily didn't have to purchase anything related to the crib which was a huge help.

Our rocker was our biggest splurge for the nursery and we knew it would be so we cut back in other decor areas to adjust for this spend. I really wanted a comfortable chair that didn't scream "baby nursery" so we could use it forever. The Wingback Convertible Rocker from Pottery Barn was exactly what we were looking. After babies, this chair can be converted to a traditional armchair by installing stationary feet. It's also super comfortable and big enough to comfortably fit two kids and plus mommy or daddy for story time. The day our chair arrived I cried. It was the first time I felt like things were getting "real" as I sat in our rocker thinking about how soon I would have our baby in my arms.

I wanted to keep the room very bright and neutral so we chose simple white curtains instead of a colored or patterned set and added a second rod for some lace! We may add roll down blackout shades if this room doesn't get dark enough during nap time.

We decided to use glass knobs throughout the room on the dresser, side table and curtain tie backs. I love them so much.

The bookshelves have been one of my favorite projects to date. We picked up 4 spice racks from Ikea and spray painted them white. I love how Matt placed them low enough for Caroline to reach her books once she's mobile.

For one of our baby showers our guests were asked to bring a signed book in lieu of a card which made filling our bookshelves so great. We now have the best book collection for Caroline's arrival.

 We also decided to add more storage to Caroline's closet by building cubbies and installing a second rod for clothes. You can read about our closet makeover {here}!

We had the hardest time picking out only two pictures from our maternity shoot for these frames.

For my diaper bag, I decided to go with the Logan Square Stevie Baby Bag from Kate Spade. Another Black Friday steal, I scored my bag 70% off!

I have a little bit of space left on the shelf for a few more decorative things. I'm planning to frame Caroline's hospital beanie once she's home.

I love Caroline's hospital go-home outfit so much that I keep it out on her changing table so I can admire it when I'm in her nursery.
