Freshly picked herbs not only bring excitement and variety to otherwise bland or uninspiring dishes, they add a decorative touch to your porch, kitchen table, patio, etc! Not to mention, a $3.99 plant can last you through an entire season of cooking {if you keep it alive}! I love cooking with fresh herbs, but dang, they get expensive when you have to purchase an entire container at the grocery store when the recipe calls for just a "pinch!"
With springtime right around the corner, I am already daydreaming about how to spice up my 2012 Herb Garden. What sort of pots, labels, and herbs will I use this year now that I have so many pinspiring ideas!?..

ReplyDeleteOh man, I love all of these ideas. I can't wait to see what you choose! I'm partial to the chalkboard since that's what we did with ours this year BUT the others are such great ideas too! We are doing parsley, three basil plants (don't ask), cilantro, thyme and rosemary. Our mint plant died already. bummer. can't wait to see photos of the finished product!
ReplyDeleteI have a little herb garden that I was planning on setting up, but I cannot find anywhere to put them where they will look pretty and still get enough sunlight! I am running out of room! They need sunlight right? Because if not...I'm putting them together tonight! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first display is too cute! My mother in law gave me a basil plant last year and it was amazing to have to cook with. I think I am going to continue the trend this year and add a few more :)
