Five on Friday!
Keeping it short today since I'm getting ready for, well #1...
- ONE - Matt and I are so excited to celebrate our babymoon in Charleston this {extra long} weekend! We'll be staying downtown at the cutest little bed & breakfast, eating lots of fancy meals and just relaxing and spending lots of quality time together in one of our very favorite places in the world. However, I have to admit, this trip is so bittersweet for us. We absolutely cannot wait for our lil Caroline to arrive, but it also makes me sad to think that Matt and I won't be able to take off for romantic weekends together at the drop of a hat without missing our baby the entire time. So we will definitely be living it up for our last 3 day trip!

- TWO - The absolute CRAZIEST thing happened to me this week. I never clean my rings, like ever. But after getting some cookie dough wedged inside my setting I decided I should throw them in some cleaning solution. So on Sunday I threw all my rings in the jar and on Monday morning I went to put them on and noticed one of the prongs on my very special ring had broken off and the diamond was missing. I was hysterical. This ring means to much to me since it was passed down to me from my birth mom. All of the diamonds are from various family rings that she had placed in one setting and I wear it every day (much to my dad's chagrin). Anyway, I was pretty devastated that I had lost one of the diamonds so I set the ring aside to get fixed and went about my day (thinking about it often). I went to the gym on Monday and again on Tuesday. However, as I was getting dressed outside my locker the next day I thought I saw something shiny in the carpet but assumed it was probably a sequin or large piece of glitter or something. I decided to be brave and leaned down and poked it. It immediately flipped over and I recognized it instantly as my lost diamond!!! I tried not to make a big deal about it in the locker room because I was afraid someone else would try and claim it but I literally could not believe it. It had to have fallen out on Friday (the last time I wore the ring to the gym) and sat there all weekend and half the week (which also means the Y doesn't vacuum the locker room floor - gross). Sorry for the long story but this was such an incredible moment for me this week I just had to share!

- THREE - I recently received two adorable pair of socks from Jo Jo Sox and am obsessed. Perfect for wearing with boots, these socks are thin yet durable, they don't slide down your leg under your boots or get bunched up under your skinny jeans and are probably the nicest socks I now own. Now I don't have to steal my hubby's dress socks to wear under my boots.
You can find the Don't P Cocky socks {here}, the Bambootz & Lace socks {here} and lots of other cute socks {here}!
- FOUR - I was planning to show off my new kicks, but instead it looks like I'm showing off my belly. Regardless, I'm pretty pumped about both.
- FIVE - Another reason why I am totally in love with my new OB doctor...he approved me eating my eggs cooked "over-medium" which is my favorite style. After church on Sunday we had brunch with our friends and I was in heaven over my cheesy hashbrown skillet topped with over-medium eggs!

I have a crazy diamond story too! When I was little my aunt and uncle came to see my family in DC. This was back in the day when you could meet at the terminal, when we got to my parents house I noticed one of her diamonds was missing and she was undoubtedly distraught as well. After a lovely week of seeing them we took them back to the airport to see them off. Guess what I found in the terminal? THE DIAMOND! No joke! It's crazy!

ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm a new reader to your blog. I remember all too well the pre-kids spontaneous weekend get-a-ways, they were great, I really thought I'd miss adults only time but now my kids are getting older and I go away without them, I'm always reminded of how much I miss them. I'll see something random and think 'Oh E would love that' or 'I must remember to tell D about this'.
ReplyDeleteThat bump on the treadmill makes me smile... healthy momma! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, let's just call it official --- you and April are the cutest preggos on the planet. Love you girls!
ReplyDeleteAnd am I reading into this correctly... you girls will both be in Charleston "babymooning" this weekend??? How awesome is that? Ps - I'll be there in April with one of my best friends! Maybe we need to do a Charleston trip in the fall for our little girls getaway?
Hope you have an absolutely fabulous weekend!! Enjoy every second - life changes oh so fast. XO!

ReplyDeleteThat brunch looks fantastic. SO glad you found your diamond - crazy blessing! Have a wonderful time in Charleston!
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't believe that about your ring! That is amazing! It reminds me of the time that I found a ring on the floor in middle school, so I wore it for a while, then felt guilty and turned it into lost and found. Then I found it AGAIN at the end of the school year.
ReplyDelete....I still have it, but haven't worn it in probably 10 years. I decided it was destiny. :)
What wonderful news about your diamond! Oh my goodness I would be ELATED!!!!

Your bump (and kicks) look great!!!
ReplyDeleteMy mom has lost her diamond in her engagement ring TWICE and found it both times...in the oddest places! So happy you found yours...I know most rings are insured, but there still something so sentimental about the original diamond, isn't there? Have a great weekend in Charleston!
