Why does adding one tiny little person to a photoshoot make picking out outfits so much harder? Our Christmas shoot is scheduled for next weekend and I desperately need help finding a cute dress for me, a cute dress for Caroline and well, Matt is on his own.
Does anyone want to help me? No, seriously. I'll pay you in pumpkin spice muddy buddies...
I made a million little bags of these for Caroline's school bake sale tomorrow. In the list of rules and instructions for the sale, "NO NUTS!!" was written at least 3 times. I really wanted to use fall colored M&Ms but the only Halloween bags I could find in the 10 minutes I had at the Teeter all contained peanuts or peanut butter. So I grabbed a bag of regular mini M&Ms and literally spent Caroline's nap time picking out all of the orange and brown M&Ms while Matt sat across from me on the couch shaking his head in disbelief.
Pumpkin Spice Muddy Buddies
Ingredients:
1 box (13.5 oz) Cinnamon Chex Cereal
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup powdered sugar, divided
1/2 cup powdered sugar, divided
1/2 cup M&Ms
Directions:
Directions:
Pour box of Cinnamon Chex cereal in
a large bowl. In a double broiler carefully melt the white chocolate.
Add the pumpkin pie spice until fully incorporated. Pour the white
chocolate mix over the Chex carefully stir together. Divide the powdered
sugar between 2 large bags. Add half of the cereal to each bag. Shake
until the powdered sugar fully coats the cereal. Once dry (about 30
minutes) top with M&Ms.

I've done the same with sprinkles before, my color-blind husband just didn't understand 😜
ReplyDeleteYum! Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThese look AMAZING! Thanks for sharing the recipe!! As far as outfits, I've been seeing a lot of denim, red, and gold/cream/or silver accents...maybe C could wear a denim dress, boots, big bow...you could wear denim dress or tunic with a fun vest or scarf...whatever you choose you all will look adorable! Good luck! :)

ReplyDeleteThe solution to your outfit dilemma: Lets. Go. Shopping!!!! I'm thinking a Baby Gap run is in order!

ReplyDeleteThis looks so good! You always post the best recipes!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! i love that you picked out all the brown and orange m&ms! the things we do for our littles!
ReplyDeleteoh no!! this has danger written all over it...now i am going to have to make this!!!
ReplyDeleteNow you've got me craving muddy buddies and thinking I need to start shopping (our family pictures are next month). My husband will not thank you, lol! I know whatever you guys end up wearing will be precious and perfect. Can't wait to see!:)
ReplyDeleteHaha, this si so cute - great work momma! I know the feeling all too well - we are having a yellow and white theme at Ellie's baby dedication and I cannot find ANY yellow sweets in SA so I'm going to buy some in the US and bring them back - my hubs also thinks I'm crazy!! Have a look at Pinterest for some outfit ideas - it is often nice to see how the colours work in a picture first x
ReplyDeletewell they turned out cute! Good job!! As for outfits, I am at a loss, except I vote for black and whites, and wear solid colors, so they then go together...
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! I've been known to sort mini m&ms to match a particular theme so I'm thrilled to know that I'm in such great company. I'm sure your treats will sell out in no time.
ReplyDeleteWhat about this cute dress from Old Navy for you?? http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=118759002&redirect=true and this for Caroline from GAP?? http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1014115&vid=1&pid=137687002 Hope you find something you love and feel good in. Family pictures are always a bit stressful in the beginning, but so worth it in the end.
DeleteYummy!! I love puppy chow! This looks delicious. Your pictures are always so pretty too!! As for the dress situation, I can't wait to see what you pick. We don't have a photo session scheduled yet, but I'm dying to take some!
ReplyDeleteHaha wow that is a lot of M&Ms to go through!
ReplyDeleteI would second a run to Baby Gap. All of their stuff is SO cute right now! And just picture perfect! We are having our pictures taken at a Christmas tree farm in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking denim/red/ivory or something like that! Good luck - it's such a tough decision! :)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! I just laughed out loud at your M&M shenanigans! That is definitely something I would do too! Love this recipe though! Muddy Buddies is one of my favorite things so, I can only imagine how good the pumpkin spice ones are!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I would have done the same thing! I'm going to try this recipe this weekend
ReplyDeleteThat looks so yummy!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoly moly YES YES YES
ReplyDeleteThat family selfie in the mirror is my best!!! x
ReplyDeleteJust an FYI for M&M's and peanut-allergic kids... I don't think any M&M's are 100% safe. Most bags say "May contain peanuts..." or "Processed on shared equipment" and that's something you want to stay away from if you have to keep things nut-free. I just wanted to let you know for future baked good events at the school! Regardless of all that- the recipe looks amazing.
